If you have a solenoid on the firewall I'd be looking at that.

There was prob nothing wrong with that Mitsubishi. There awesome starters.
Lots guys get 7-8 years out of them.
I'd be replacing your starter seliniod on your firewall.Motto Thanks this. -
My 01 Freightliner has original starter it’s been overheatedwhile jumping and used to start in gear when clutch was out.I see the new small starters. Wonder if they’re any good. Thinking I should stick with the type I have or even rebuild this one as it seems to have some sort of blessing bestowed on it.Dont know if you have a relay block at all my truck has one on firewall. All it is is a junction block. Have jumped with screwdriver from this block when the small ignition wires and connectors rot out. Hav e helped a couple others fix this Freightliner problem. It hard to see on firewall It’s got to be a connection somewhere. Friends Pete had same problem it was ignition

This thread is 2 years old. Why i did not see it before . I would switch to mitsubishi starters before. I am tired to replace them on DD15s.
