Off duty fueling?

There's still a paper trail. On duty time has to match up with the fuel receipt.

 

He said in his first post that he was supposed to pick up tonight so he fueled but AT THE LAST MINUTE it got changed to tomorrow morning.

 

he said his load picked up tonight. but discovered at the last minute. it picks in the early morning.

didn't mention what time he thought his load was to be picked up or what time he fueled.

 

There's a paper trail but it would only be caught in an audit. Then auditors usually allow you an hour on that time stamp so you could move it + or -1 hr and not sweat it for 6 months. You more have to worry about your own log dept.

Fuel on the road or before you shut down if you can.

 

Paper log? You fueled just before you went off duty. If someone asks (I've never been asked for supporting docs), you don't keep receipts.

 

WHat's the big deal? Why does everyone think a 34 restart is the holy grail? Just log your fuel to match your purchase and go take your 10 off.

We used to get 3000 miles week after week easy before some government paper shuffler invented a 34 hour restart.

 

The problem with that is the fueling time is recorded by the truck stop and your fuel card.

 

if there is enough time before pu then just run it as split sleeper? You will get all your drive time that would of been left

but yeah always on duty, I got a log audit for fueling off duty several months back but im also on elog so its a bit easier for them to track it, I havent done it since then.

 

On duty = anything you do that concerns the truck except driving or sleeping....simple...

 

Yeah and unless the company is audited and the auditor wants to see the exact transaction records, then you don't have to worry. 9 times out of ten during an audit, as long as the fuel time is notated sometime during that 24 hour period that is printed on the fuel receipt, that's sufficient. There's a reason fuel tickets only show a date, not a time. It would take too much time to scroll through additional transaction records and match it to log times.
