Dick, Merry HO-HO this thread is so far off topic. Why don't you guys punch it out in the PM's? What's the cliche' about letting people think you are a dumb*ss, and then opening your mouth and removing all doubt? You're the King!

    LONG LIVE KING RICHARD!

I am sitting here waiting on a return message from my DM. They sent me 2 different PP's for Louisiana. One I rejected and the other they pulled off me while I slept. I never heard the Qcom go off.

They sent me a PP for Zanesville OH. I asked for a back up plan to get me home from there. I am waiting for a return message.

Rug, I'm crossing my fingers for you. If you wind up in AZ though......we've got a place at the table for you.

I was out 5 weeks before Thanksgiving when my company sent a message drivers could only have 1 holiday at home. Thanksgiving or Christmas. I sent a message back BS I wasn't choosing I had been on the road weeks & was being with my family on BOTH holidays.

Long story short I left out after 3 days for TG, but due 5. I got home on the 21st for Christmas with them bugging me to return ASAP. I've decided to stay home until January and look for other opportunities. I'm tired of this companies BS. I've had 3 jobs in 11 years & really just want to find one I can hang with long, long term.

that is a good idea. I think i normally take one holiday or the other. our family is so far spread out over the states, that its hard to get everybody back at the same time for one or the other. So we decide which one to make, and as far as the other one...i could care less if i have to work.

i dont need to hear my dad talk for hours about his prostate or his colon TWICE in a year....LOL

Well after putting in a call to be home on the 15th weeks ago, finally on the 23rd will be getting that way towards the home spot just 300 miles away from where I have been for a week running locals WTH. I'm ready to smack that computer system at Swift, ya know the real dispatcher. Happy whatever you celebrate!

if you have a terminal or DM/planner who always lets the computer pick your loads, its time to change terminals, DMs or companies all together. I know when i put in a request to go west or south, or home in a week....you better believe there is some HUMAN physically sending me that load to my truck. even when i was a company driver.

I sat here all day without a load. Went in and asked the gal behind the desk when i'm going to get rollin'. She said "i'm guessin' so and so will have some early morning run for you, to get you home". Thats fine....but i did say i wanted to stay out till the 24th. Not too happy about sitting here. So at 7a, i'm sending in a message saying i need something to roll on by 10a, or i'm rollin' home till the 27th.....

For company drivers the loads are always handled by the computer until you knock it off its tracks by not excepting/making requests etc. is what I was explained by a planner in KS, I usually except everything and keep a good pace if all stays on track. It seems to be working well thinking this way, except for this particular home time request, but given the time of year stuff happens even though my minimal requests are to be taken seriously at all times imo. Thats why many will hear "just except what the computer sends you so the humans don't screw things up" I get paid to drive anyway and am happy as long as I am moving.

I am honestly happy to communicate with only a computer most times, just when something/someone messes up I have to call in to get something fixed. I have worked for large companies where you never talked to a person ever, and it worked well for loads and requests as long as you didn't screw up or someone in the office interferes with something on the computer. Swift does have way too much spam during the day though on the QC, just send me my load info, directions, and email me the other crap.

Being at this company for just a couple of months I am still learning how things work in different situations. Companies are all really the same stuff just different colors.
