Was he parked on the pavement? If so, then it was a bad place to park.

I have parked many times in CA, without issue, in the area adjacent to the ramp. I have even had CHP pull into the same area at the same time with no problem.

If any part of the vehicle was hanging over the fog line...he was unsafe! Which could be why he got picked and the other two didn't.

Just like any other ticket in CA...you will have to wait for the letter from the county of citation to get the "bail amount" as for the points...yes in a commercial vehicle even parking tickets carry a point value...what it will be couldn't say...check with the DMV after the citation has been adjudicated!

Actually...pointless in going to court and trying to argue this out with the judge. Citation happy municipalities and counties are making the news coast to coast about the "revenue benefits" in this economy!

Not for parking illegal...for attempting to have a meeting with the Legislature without an appointment!

Everybody parks on the steps of the Capitol Building....don't they?:biggrin_25521:

Yeah, I'd say hubby was parked as a hazard. Ca. is actually pretty lenient with trucks parked along the freeways etc., as long as they are well off the travel lane. Even in congested areas like L.A. It's probably the Cops discretion.

He pulled him out of bed, and he was on a on ramp not on a off ramp. He did not ticket the other 2 drivers but listed that he was 1 out of 3.

Thats why you should park at the top of an on ramp. Thats where I see them. I have not seen one on the off ramp yet in my neck of the woods.

Top of the ramp can still get you a ticket. It is not a parking spot.

In Wisconsin, some ramps are clearly posted while other ramps are not posted at all. And I see truck parked on ramps that are not posted and the State Patrol lets them park there.
