Also gigs like delivering log home packages. Usually in very remote areas. Any kind of mining is usually in remote areas. Rock trucks and sand trucks do stuff like that.

It maybe a little tougher since you don't have experience but if you have your license and can get your foot in the door as a grunt or something then you maybe able to work your way up.

Try combing through Craigslist in states like Montana, Idaho, Dakota's etc... There are often jobs posted on there just like this.

If you want to do it bad enough, you will find a way!

The one I used, was for utility location, it was a trailer mounted unit. You had to man-handle the vac-hose, which was either 4" or 6". Think of a high-pressure power-washer combined with a huge vacuum cleaner. The high-pressure line, used water to cut and dig. The deepest hole I dug was 11ft. I would dig down, reaching as far as could, laying on the ground. Then the track-hoe would dig down that far, so that I could climb down, and dig more.

However there are units that use a boom to manage the vacuum line. Those wouldn't be so bad.

However both are very dangerous. There have been workers killed by the power-washer. The pressure is high enough, if you would accidentally drag the wand across your boot, kiss your toes good-bye.
