It does get easier in time. And your doing the right thing to watch others and you may learn a newer way. Get your own system working and things will flow better when your on the ground.
Good luck and have fun.ezmoney Thanks this. -

I've got my app in to Keim. I start CDL school on the 17th, and will graduate on the 21st of Nov. I'm not 100% committed to Keim yet. Still have some questions, would be great if you could provide some help.
I don't know much about flatbedding. How is the training at Keim? Do they really show you proper ways to secure and tarp various loads?
I know they still use paper logs, do they use Qualcom? The rigs, KWs appear to be rather nice. My understanding in talking to Peggy (recruiter) they use T600 and t660s. Do these have the Super 10 transmissions? If not what are they using?
Did you opt for cpm or %? My brother who's been an OTR driver for years, cautioned me about the %.
Finally I was told after the 1-day orientation in Sabetha, training would be 20-days. Are you out the entire 20?
Thanks.. -
you will probably come home for the weekends. As for the surcurment training your trainer will show you what you need to know. They a very friendly and will answer all your questions I have been there a month and I'm happy with them. I took percent in the end you'll make more. Equipment is nice. They keep up with it. Best of luck just don't sweat the small stuff take day by day and take your time.Last edited: Oct 7, 2011
