Almost every time I go through on I-80 or I-90 I try to work in an hour or two to spend with the family. We live kind of in the middle of the two roads, and it is only about an hour or so either way. That kind of thing helps to break up the day, gives you a break from the truck, makes you feel more like a human, rather than a machine. I also stop alot a scenic areas, snap a few pictures, read the historical markers... That kind of stuff really makes life alot more fun.

I'm sure there are some "angry quitters", as you call em, that actually do their job and don't just slack off. Sometimes people really tell the truth. Just saying.

They try to head you home every 14 days +\-. You can stay out longer, you just need to communicate your home time needs. When you come out of the house, let your FM know when you need to be home again. They need time to get you home, don't tell your FM on Wednesday that you need to be home on Friday, its not going to happen.

I'm still pretty new at Roehl, but what I was told by my EVO 3 Fleet Manager is that when I get home is MY decision. I thought that was pretty cool.

The main thing you need to do is, when you go back on the road from being on home time, just let your FM know when you want to get home again. If he/she knows well ahead of time, they should be able to get you there pretty darn close to the day you ask.

For me home time isn't all that important, but I can see how it would be if I had a family. In my opinion, Roehl is very good about getting us home when we want to.

Seems as tho they got me home real well until the 6 month area then it started being late a day then two the three. I then would tell em earlier and they'd get me there on time. Its easier for them to just get close to the day. They could get you there on the day you want, but find it less efficient to look closer for an extra minute or two. Lol

They are good at getting u home/ but when you are running 3-4 weeks out an only avg 325miles a day at .30 a mile the money stinks. I can't pay my kids daycare at that rate. An be gone OTR for that! Please if anyone wants to hear my horror story chk me out on facebook you maybe surprised at what Roehl did too me. I will be sending in complaints to Labor dept an DOT.
