The Isolation Part is a good thing. The only Person I have to count on to get the Job done is Me. Plus im not a big fan of People and Vice Versa. Also far as the "Sedentary" part, Its going to be a breeze. On top of the 6000+ Boxes I move, I also walk anywere from 10-20 Miles a Night. The warehouse I work is a 1.5 Million Square Foot Building. It will be a Nice change of Pace.

slabrunner Thanks this. -
It won't happen often, but it very likely will happen. In this industry, nothing i cast in stone. Things can and do change, all the time. A line haul run is expanded. A line haul run is cut back. One is closed completely, and another may be opened.
There are no guarantees anywhere. You may go with them and wind up on the same line haul run your entire career. Or you may go with them and wind up getting laid off in three months if business goes further into the toilet.
I'm not trying to discourage you, I just want you to be aware of these things. The decision has to be yours, and your family's.slabrunner Thanks this. -
All these are valid points which my family and I are Prepared to take. Silver Lining, If it doesn't workout at least I got My CDL. I can take it and Move on to Another Company. I am prepared to Do my Time and Eat ####. We all have to start somewhere. I never though it would be with a local Company Like OD. -
Sounds like a good start on the decision making process Camaro. Keep us posted here wouldja?

Did you ever take the job at OD?
I worked for them out of the Greensboro NC yard.
Back then it was mostly night runs. When you got back to the yard your 10 hour break started as soon as you hit the guard shack.
Then you still had to fuel, turn in paperwork and fuel the truck. So by the time you got home it could be as little as 7 hours when they would call to dispatch you back out.You had 2 hours to be there.
My sleep schedule was so messed up and i went up the road many nights barely knowing where i was or what day it was...
Just wondering how things have changed. -
I worked for about 6 months on the dock then got let go when it slowed down.

That sucks! Did you get the old job back?
Best of luck to you bud!
