and P.S,
now that I think about it, make sure you learn how to write a comdata check off your card because although it doesn't happen very often, occassionally you might have to pay for a lumper with a comcheck. I haven't had to get one for quite some time, and if you go all the way though training and never do one, your in a a tough time figuring out the macro to use for the lumper fee, and how to write the check and get the lumper form filled out.
just fyi and one more thing to think about when your out here,
again, good luck to you, I sincerely hope you do well!

The comdata card also works at mcdonalds. And if you have to cash a check at a truck stop you didn't fuel. Keep the check cashing fee receipt, its tax deductible.

I don't give many "Bear" reports, but when I do it's usually in a 55 zone. My attitude is, if the limit is 65-80,and you're blazing along at a speed that would put you in the "ticket zone", you're on your own. Sorry.
That being said,I think the CB is useful tool in the truck. It's helped me out several times in my short trucking career. -
I have been keeping busy and lose track of coming back to the forums. I got lucky to get a good mentor, he has been a mentor for 6 years he said and has been a really cool guy on the road. I have not used a comdata check yet but he has explained lumpers to me a little bit and he said he would teach me the comcheck when we fuel up if my deposit went to the card. My direct deposit went straight to my bank I set up so I will just wait and see if a lumper comes along. He is an owner op so he has been slowly teaching me the best ways of being one, how to make more money at it and what to avoid. His biggest tip was to buy a truck outside of Swift which saves money.
I dont worry about speeding, normally if I go over the speed its only about 3mph.
So far I have been getting a decent amount of miles in, im almost at my mid way point in hours and I even had to do 2 34 hour resets, sit for a couple days waiting for loads and I got this weekend off since both my mentor and I dont live far apart and we decided to spend the weekend with our wives.
I think in 2 weeks I have seen half the states lol, our last load we took from Albany, NY to Sacramento and drove teams nonstop to get home, took a load from Sacramento 4 hours after our drop to Rancho Cucamonga and been sitting at home now since Friday. Tomorrow morning im driving to Fontana, will do my mid review and then we head back out.
I am going to try and come back to the forums more, after I drive 10-11 hours I usually hop into the passenger seat and talk for a bit then watch a movie and go to sleep.
