What type of miles per gallon where you getting out of your 1.3 million miles D16 ?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I hate to hear that its stopped making you money, the cam and roller put a lot of powered steel all thru the eng. and may have made bearing go out?
bzinger and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
21k, you’ll be back in Bussiness. So it goes. Too bad it took out the block. I can understand the crank, but the block? I thought it had to come apart, knocking a hole through, to ruin the block. Guess you got your money out of that one.

Nope never thought about it, never had to since I was always a company driver. Something went wrong call 1-800-COME-FIX. Now I know what the warning sign is low oil pressure, the dealer said it been like that at least 2-3 months, I normal changed the oil when I got the low oil pressure buzz and it stop the buzz/shut down engine for 12/15k mile, did that for 4 months.
My fuel mileage average around 5/6 depending on weight. Hopefully I can get 6/7 with the new/used engine. Having the dealer replace the bearing even if the engine have low miles. I needed some time home anyway with the family, we was saving for a overhaul anyway. Just it turned into a engine swap instead of a rebuild.bzinger, Coffey and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Yeah it would been 21K for a rebuild, which they started to do, glad they pulled the pan first and saw the metal, that when the started looking where the metal came from. We all are surprised that it didn't throw a rod, where the bearings overlap and lock in place keep it from breaking it. It created a nice size space between them, where it would cost more to fix than it was worth. It also took out two rocker arms and scorch the camshaft.
Paid $23k cash in 3/19, since putting on the road in 8/2019 made $201k up till last week, so yeah it paid for itself multiple times.
Paid for the motor new/used engine this morning, should be at the dealer by Tuesday, hope to be back on the road mid next week. -
Yup oil pressure idle 32 psi, running 65 at 1475 rpms 63 psi. I assuming when I get the low oil pressure warning. Is the warning something is wrong, but it went away after getting a oil change.Coffey Thanks this.

Not bad at all

Nope didn't do any of that, didn't loosen hp, didn't smoke, only thing it did was the low oil pressure warning. Before I decided to take it in, drove from Memphis TN to Harrisburg PA pulling 34K never missed a beat, had to keep the rpms over 1500 going up hills.bzinger and Rideandrepair Thank this.
