Shrek, can they not see them now. I thought that this was one of the reasons for Mac 10, sent daily with the previous days hours.
Hmm the Elogs are saying I have more hours left on my 70 than my paper ones??? Hmm I guess I follow the Elogs. Today was my last day of doing paper logs. I made nice little airplanes and flew them all over the Petro today!! No more worries of Swift log violations!!!
Don't throw out the logbook... its a requirement to have one available if your elogs goes down. You can get a ticket without having that logbook in the truck even though you're not using it!
Oh I got all my logs and it feels grrrrrreat that for the first time I did not have to touch a log today! Actually feels kinda strange?? One thing I noticed is since we are now on minutes I will log off duty anytime I stop to use the bathroom. hey it will all add up to something by the end of the week. I am a little confused on one issue. Why would I log on duty not driving if I am sitting at a shipper or consignee waiting to get Un loaded or loaded? Sometimes I may have to wait for hours and I either climb in the sleeper or I go down to the store, break room or so on. Would it be better if I logged it in the sleeper if I had to wait five hours or off duty not driving? Seems to me it would be really pointless to log on duty not driving when you are either sleeping or having a break of some sort in the break room. What I have been doing is logging when they actually start on me. If I logged all the time I have waited then this would chew up my hours. I don't get paid while I am sitting Unless it's over a certain amount of time so why should I log it on duty?
allways log 15 minutes at a shipper or receiver, nothing more or less. unless you are physicly unloading the trailer. thats just wasteing your 70 American Trucker
That's pretty much standard fare. Although I admit to logging 30 minutes (paper) at a shipper/receiver. 15 for checking in, and 15 for getting bills signed after unloading completed. It hasn't hurt my 70 too much and will keep an overzealous DOT man somewhat happy.
Dispatch an planners have more problems with it than i do. We use people net. lets you drive 5 mi. befor putting you on drive.
WHAT, never log anytime at the shipper or receiver, your off duty, or in the sleeper resting, you will burn your 70 hrs up, only log 15 min for fuel, 15 min for pre-trip, 15 min post-trip, thats it nothing else
