Unless I’m missing something your thoughts and mine on this idea are polar opposites. That’s all I got to say.

It is not the age that is the problem. It is the dumb people that can't drive at any age and the people that allow them to drive. Grew up in country and many teens could drive trucks better than most people I see now days. And trucks are a lot easier to drive now.

If you can drive all over the state you reside in what’s the difference if you cross an imaginary wall into another state?

I'd say go to a high school and see how many want to drive a truck when they graduate. I bet there's a shortage there.

How many potentially good ones are being passed over because of having to wait 3 years after HS graduation? Anyone who wants to work will go do something else. By the time they're 21 they won't want to start over at the bottom again and take a pay cut.

"The apprenticeship pilot program was required by Congress as part of the infrastructure bill signed into law Nov. 15. It requires the FMCSA, which is part of the Transportation Department, to start the program within 60 days."

There you have it, an act of congress forcing fmcsa to disregard its own mandate (safety, its in the name)

Feels a bit like forcing the post office to start ups/fedex, or requiring a fire department to commit arson

Those won't be getting a CDL.. that would mean they would have to leave Mommy & Daddy's basement and couldn't play video games with their other self entitled friends all day..
Besides Brandon is paying them not to work
