It doesn't matter what type of vehicle it was. Bottom line, if you can't safely stop to avoid hitting the traffic in front of you, you were traveling too fast. I slow down in reduced visibility conditions. I have 20/20 corrected vision. If people are passing me, I know they can't see any better than I can. I stayed home the day this was all going on and I live about 10 mi from the scene.

EVERYBODY is making up there own rules. If you discuss speed limits, some say I only go a little over. Some go 2, 4, 5, 7, 10 over. They see a cop they slow down. When the cop is out of sight it's back to business. So who is the real problem? Is it the other person or is it you, the driver( trucker or 4 wheeler) who is reading this?

Some will take offense to this response because there's no accountability for our actions. It's always someone else that is the problem.

Before America can change, people must change. But you won't find 2 out of 100 people who think it has anything to do with them.

I keep 2 tablets on my dash. Google Maps and My Radar. In Google Maps I can see if traffic ahead is slow or stopped. I use My Radar to watch storms in my line of travel. It's a satellite depiction of the weather. Also, My GPS is about the size of a small tablet.

I've never tried to take off from an aircraft carrier yet though. LOL

Used to play a game with brother, sister and mom or dad depending on who was driving back when it wasn't against the law to have us kids in the front seat.

Going up the mountain into the fog from both side roads and later the interstate. We would try to see who could spot the next car first. My dad had 20/20, my Mom did not.

How come my Mom and me could always see farther ahead in any weather day or night but those with 20/20 could not. Not once did we not see the next car before anyone else. You could putme in the back seat and I would still see everything sooner than my brother or sister but could only match my mom if I was sitting in the front seat.

So my question to you is do you really think your 20/20 vision means you see better than everyone else?

Give you a hint my sister was the only one that had to wear glasses constantly but she could still spot things sooner than my brother and father.

A family game hardly qualifys as a real test.
With all due respect, whatever your family members claim that they saw as children is here say.
Always looking for a way to push the envelope, ha?
God forbid you should have to slow down for ANYTHING. Those drivers that were involved in the pile up probably made similar claims.
