Oil analysis indicates high aluminum...is this bad news?

    Yes that is true, but I doubt very much that enough aluminum would pass through to be burnt and contaminate the oil without noticing the turbo making a lot of unwanted noise.

    I suggested it for two reasons:

    1) It literally takes minutes to check

    2) If that is the problem, it is much cheaper than a rebuild

    But I do agree with you.

    Here is the source of the aluminum. My mechanic says we caught it in the nick of time.
