Oil change prices

Try Supp Bros, last time I was changing oil there, MO I-49 x155/7? they were 495 for Chaeffer's. I don't do synthetics, so did not bother asking more.

PS: It's a good thing some oils are still available, regardless the price, I had to, for the third time in a row, use Rotella instead of Delvac, since no shop I had stopped by had it.

 

2 buckets of Mobil delvac on rebate =120
1 tube of grease = 5
Some filters…various prices by truck but my stuff usually around 65
2 hours of my time to make sure every fitting is greased, drain plug is properly tightened, and lube levels are good apparently worth 300
I will gladly change my own oil or anyone else. Added bonus 10 gallons of oil to keep my shop or house warm

Aye filter is always changed with oil though. At least for my truck due to being a rock truck. Like i said i did forget about the belts. I just remimber the sticker shock as that exact same order just a few months before (sans belt) was about $500 all in with filters

 

Just FYI but if you do your own maintenance some, maybe all case ih farm equipment dealers have very good prices on fleetguard filters
I get mine for about 1/2 what they cost anywhere else

 

- $40 for two filters
- $10 for fuel filter
- $10 grease
- $160 for good oil
Once a month

I buy boxes of each fuel/oil filters, and get oil pretty cheap at Atwoods. All in all, probably a couple G saved a year doing it myself.

 

Question

The past few trucks I had I ordered but the one I’m in now was used with 340k
He used synthetic oil
Can I switch back to regular oil?
Thought I’ve heard once you go synthetic that you have to stay with that
