Oil Change

    It really doesn't matter how long, or short, one does oil changes. If they are happy with the results and don't mind what it costs, then nothing to worry about. Nothing is wasted. Used oil is recycled, used to heat shops, whatever. I guess I sit in the middle on this issue. The Detroit recommendation on my pre-egr Series 60 is 15,000 miles. I do 20,000 miles. Have no desire to do more than that. It is what I am comfortable with, the oil samples look good, I get a very good synthetic blend oil at a good price (as good or better than Wally World pricing) delivered free to my front door complete with free oil sample kits and analysis, and the engine is doing just fine. For those that want to change at 10,000, or even less, great. For those that want to set all time records for how long they can go without an oil change, fantastic. Each of us has their own comfort level and it is best to stick with what helps us sleep well at night.
