Oil Field Logs...how does the exemption work?

    oil field logs? HAHAA
    I worked in ND for over 2 years and never crossed a scale in the bakken. so you must be asking a trick question.

    The only thing 99% of us gain is the 24 hour restart. All other exemptions require the vehicle to be specially constructed for use in the oil field. If your truck can pull a dry van or a reefer etc then it doesnt apply to you.

    My boss told me some things that i followed until i got a level 2 inspection today. The cop could have hit me with a big old logbook violation if he wanted to. Luckily he decided to explain the actual rules to me and give me a chance.

    Long story short dont mess with the special exemptions unless you are 100% certain you are allowed to. You will have to receive special "extensive" training to even be able to try and use them so youll know.
