Acme does alot of oil field, pretty much all open deck though I think...

Need to get into soil farming (spreading drilling mud in a field) instead of hauling water. Have to get the permits and have each load tested for salt. I know a couple guys making around $2500/day for a bobtail. I'd personally rather have a belly dump than a tank. When the oil patch slows down, you wouldn't be stuck with a tank that you can't do much with. I don't care what anybody says, H2S is in the non-salt water too, soaks into the metal on the trailer. It's some BAD stuff.

if you can swing it, and don't mind the xtra stiff daily requirements, MBI for the oil side
I personally wouldn't touch water,, belly or side dump yes....either for drilling pads and the roads leading to the sites or for all the road and building construction. Construction side would be my 1#
Know one contractor with just 2 bellys here, she makes enough to pay good hrly and keep both
trucks, trailers fueled and maintained. do not know much on the soil side, but that could be the next big haul out here
ps: speaking specific to Dakota oil playLast edited: Jan 6, 2013

I just know some roustabout companies doing the soil farming (I wouldn't work for them ever again). I was hauling frac sand for a while, but it got too cut-throat for my taste. I'd be a company driver if I wanted to do water hauling, company driver or o/o if I did belly dump. You could also get into moving frac tanks if you had winch (30-ton+) on the truck.
