    hello out there,
First I would like to say respect to all Truckers and please be safe out there. I think I put too much oil in my truck, 2012 DD15 Cascadia, So I had a check trans flash, took it in to change clutch.I thought it was oil levels at first so I put more oil(5galons),checked the dipstick and it's over the full line. Used to change gears at 1500 rpms and I noticed it's changing gears on higher rpms now. Can I remove some oil, how?? Or I just have to call TA and do an oil change all together??What to do???
    Help??
    Thanks in advance

And I also noticed the floor of the truck was hotter than before when I parked and the hood was too hot, even the water gauge was over 200F. Maybe it's not oil but whatever it is, need to fix asap.

You put in 5 gallons of oil ? I'm guessing engine oil. That's a lot of oil, to be low 5 gallons or it's way over the full mark now. Just have another oil change or maybe Speedco will just drain a couple gallons to get it back to the normal full mark. If it just 1/2 gallon over or something that probably ok. Just depends on how much you over filled it.

Volvo trucks have hot floors you can put your dinner on the floor and cover it with a jacket and it wiil stay hot till your ready to eat it,Was the oil press. lower than it was with eng. hot after you added 5 gal of extra oil? having way too much oil can make the oil turn to foam and will cause loss of oil press. if it not much over full it will burn or leak the extra out fast because you have bad leak or a worn out motor in the truck you just got?

You put engine oil in to fix a clutch/trans issue? Wut?

The difference in shifting is most likely due to stored values being reset when they relearned the transmission to the new clutch.

You just randomly decided to pour 5 gallons of motor oil in your engine because your clutch was acting up?

You cannot effectively troubleshoot a problem with such disconnected logic and no restraint in taking actions.

You never top off engine oil or any lubricant before checking the level to determine what (if anything) it needs.

I am going to assume it is an automatic transmission since your "symptom" was a transmission fault code and shifting at a different rpm, that does not sound like any clutch system error, you are going to need a mechanic that will not do what you tell him to do but will instead properly diagnose the issues.

    ^^^Agreed!

OMG this is wrong on so many levels. Honestly if you are this confused please do everyone a favor and DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING.....

*** Now the fix...., take it to a mechanic that KNOWS what they're looking at.

And please please try to start learning about trucks so you're not just another ignorant incompetent strong wheel holder !!

Oil levels should always be checked FIRST.

SECOND, before adding anything you need to know the CORRECT OIL or FLUID TYPE !! ...... AND WHERE it's supposed to be....

I don't know if this is trollish or simply a honest lack of logic. Which could be excused due to our aw never mind.

If the transmission is sick, you tell the shop truck is sick and let them worry and nurse her. Leave it alone. If they know anything at all she will be right as rain more or less better when you get it back.

I have never overfilled a heavy truck engine, however there might have been a dallop here and there now and again before a really BIG pull. Ive actually lost engine oil through a bad filler cap once on a big pull. THAT caused the truck to enter in those days a engine preservation mode otherwise it would have flat burned it up. Do I have 30,000 dollars laying around for a new engine? No.

I think to pick up a 10 foot pole and prod this thread for signs of life from here on out. Im not sure again what to think when there is some educating that has become necessary.
