Delo improved my isx. She feels like synthetic now. Delvac put a drag on it. Sounded like a tank ready to blow up.
The good stuff is probably too expensive.
It was for my car. When I first bought it.
It's relatively cheap now.feldsforever and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
The FA-4 is only a few yrs old. Factory filled by Delo, in Detroit’s. Recent contract between Detroit and Delo. Can be used in older Detroit’s, not epa 07 and older. Suggested for new Cummins also, along with a few yrs old. Low ash formula they claim. Brand doesn’t matter as far as approved oils, only classifications. I agree though, different oils seem to work differently in different engines. I use Mobil 1 in my newer cars. The 4 cyl. no problem. My 6 cyl. blows it out. Always adding oil. I’ve heard of cars that “use” oil, insted of leak or burn it. I think that’s impossible. Mine must burn it so slowly, blowing past the rings, getting burned again through the engine. It’s strange. Just disappears. For some reason synthetic always just seems thinner. Even whet it’s warm, The improvements in oil have always been retroactive. It’s much better than in the past. I’m surprised to see, FA-4 isn’t suggested for older engines. That’s a first, as far as I know.feldsforever Thanks this.

They can delete those stickers from the truck order and it saves $5. Plus you don’t have an ugly sticker on your frame.Oxbow, D.Tibbitt, ProfessionalNoticer and 4 others Thank this. -
That's not the sticker.
There's a seperate sticker on the left frame close to the wall. All it says is what oil. Nothing more.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Would you like to place money on your statement and I can show you when my new truck comes in since you seem to know everything? Please tell me more about the truck I ordered.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

FA-4 has a much lower high temp viscosity. Older engines were built with more bearing clearance then the newer engines are being built with. The FA-4 oil would likely not be able to maintain a sufficient oil film between the bearings and rotating parts at operating temp in the older engines. This could also cause more oil to flow through the bottom end of the engine starving the top end.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I'll post a picture. And show uuuuu tomorrow. How's that?
Just because you disagree. Doesn't make someone claiming to know everything.
It's been on every isx I've driven.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Right, and I’m telling you that it’s getting left off my truck and you’re saying it’s not. I’m well aware of what the factory fill 2x2 sticker looks like. And I also know it’s not coming on my truck. I don’t really care about the company truck you drive and what it has, I’m telling you what I ordered.D.Tibbitt and Rideandrepair Thank this.

There’s the $5 sticker in case anyone is wondering. Lol. And if anyone cares I also run Delvac and not Delo cuz I’m a rebel.
D.Tibbitt, feldsforever and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
