Yeah, I know. When I post a pic of something and you tell me it’s not what I say it is then I will prove you wrong. That’s how this works.

What happened?

It just sounded like crap. A tank ready to blow up.. Performance and fuel economy went down. Oil consumption went up.feldsforever and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Sounds about right, 20-30 degrees over coolant temp.feldsforever Thanks this.

Well, this post got me researching oil. I learned that Delvac 1300, which I’ve always used on my old Detroit’s, is a synthetic blend. I’ve often thought of using full synthetic, but worried about current leaks getting worse. Now no more leaks, since OH. ( except for my valve cover, that’s leaking pretty bad). I guess I’ll stick with the 1300, but maybe try 10w30, this winter.
feldsforever Thanks this. -
Didn't see the sense in pulling a picture. But the dash temp is averaging between 211 and 219.

How level does the truck really need to be. I can't get a accurate reading one the stick. Even after letting it sit for a 34 restart.

Start an oil analysis program and ease your mind. You might be surprised at how long oil lasts. I used to change every 10k or about once a month depending on how hard I ran but now after using CAT's SOS program I've extended my intervals to 30k and could still go longer if I wanted to.Goodysnap, feldsforever and Rideandrepair Thank this.
