Oil Trap

We have debated doing this on both trucks as well...but the dam thing is too much $ right now..
Will be interesting to see if anyone has bought this and how well it worked or didn't.

 

I purchased one for a cat and never put it on. Did not really like the way it was made. I would recommend you to make it yourself and save the money.

 

i made one from an air tank. cut it in half and plated it with 2 inch and 3/4 fittings for inlet(i run dual breathers) and 2 for outlet. my truck is spotless underneath. drain at every oil change. get about a dixie cup of oil out of it. cost about $100 dollars to make. also installed a baffle inside of tank to slow the air down so oil can drip to the bottom of catch tank.

 

A perforated sheet or a screen would work as a baffle. I would make my own too instead of buy one.

That's way down on my list right now tho...

 

i welded the inch and 3/4 pcs of tubing in the plate and had a drain valve on the bottom of tank. i will try and take a pic and post it.i will be tomorrow before i can do it.

 

the baffle i welded in about 3 inches down from the top halfway across the tank at an angle so the oil would drip off to the bottom before i welded the plate on top.

 

Refloating this one from way back. @Superhauler (if you're still around) or anybody else have one of these to show with pics or a build video?
