The oil I'm referring to comes out at the exhaust manifold. The engine pumps it out and it looks worse than it is. Seems to only happen when idling all night.

My last S60 had so much blow by, when new, that clouds of blue smoke would billow out across the parking lot. A poor injector spray pattern was actually washing down the cylinder walls. Warranty covered it but not before a liner broke and dropped. Fun times.

The back of the S60 block is open and sealed by the flywheel housing. That seal can fail and leak on both sides. The trans needs to come out to fix it.

I only give advice on things I actually know about....hence why I haven't given any advice on blowby or blowby hoses.

My manifold does have a leak I need to get fixed. That could be making it worse. That being said, I dont idle over night often and it doesn't seem to loose much so i'm not to worried.

First things first, if you were so knowledgeable about trucking and your truck u should have known what the blow by tube and " blowby" is second thing a Detroit should never be idled lower than a 1000 rpm or they will slobber as with a cat engine also. Next thing go wash your #### engine so u can figure out were these leaks are the engine should be as clean as the outside of the truck

The blow by tube on '06 Detroits was at the left front corner, so the left side of the undercarriage received the oil mist lube job.

Thank you, I didn't know they moved it to the opposite side on the EGR models. Then again could it be that is just the way your particular engine is spec'ed? For example, my 99 engine WS has the oil dipstick on the left and the fill tube on the right, which is retarded, and unlike the other 12.7's I owned.

I don't think so; having a little brain fade at the moment, but there was some sort of liquid trap on the left front corner, and the air compressor intake was tied in there somewhere as well. But the vent tube dropped straight out of the trap. Mine was '07 WS w/ the '06 engine.

With a WS, nothing is normal, as I've found out.

Mine was after the takeover, so parts of it were WS sourced parts, others from FL. What a pain in the rear! Anything in the HVAC was a forever and a day wait to parts for, and even simple things like the dash air switches would take at least a week!
