Barring any unforseen circumstances, I'm probably going to take the job. Monday-Friday with weekends off for pretty good pay is hard to pass up, especially considering the way I run at my present gig. I never know if I'm going to get home on Friday or Saturday, and then leave out Sunday or Monday.

It's hard to make any kind of family plans.

BostonTanker, Lepton1 and SingingWolf Thank this.

If family is important too you, you'll wonder why you waited so long to take a local gig.

    Case in point...

I left out yesterday morning (Sunday) with a load for North Carolina. Got here last night, delivered, had to wait until dispatch got in this morning to get an express code to pay the lumper, and now I'm sitting at the truckstop rotting away and burning hours (elogs) waiting for my next load as I didn't have a pre plan. A few times since I've been here I sat a whole day, not picking up until the following one.

Great way to start the week...

Yes, I am off duty right now, and since I got here. I'm burning up my 14 since I had to start the clock to travel from the receiver to the truckstop.

Nope. Only the lease operators get that perk.

That sucks. Actually, I am in the same boat, mine is only available in very specific situations. I have found that I can just log out of the truck if I am only moving 1-2 miles.

When you get your next load offer make sure to tell dospatch every time..I can only go this far cause you burnt up my hrs waiting..
This electronic log is not helping the driver most of the time but its helping the manufacture all the time..
