I hope you read enough on here to keep you from showing up yesterday. I didn't see the post til today. They will tell you 2500-3200 miles a week. My husband had a week where he had 3200, and also a week where he had 645. AVERAGED close to 2100. Sat ALOT, waited ALOT, didn't get home for 6 weeks even when he put in for it 2 weeks ahead of time. The per diem thing is a total rip off. You make .18 cpm if you let them pay you the per diem, and you only get it when you are rolling. If you claim it on your taxes you get to claim every single day you are gone from home.

    Knight Sucks.

from my mouth to your ears, If your an
A kisser you will do fine at Knight. if you are not a TEAM PLAYER, your out the door, or they will make it so hard for you to make a living you will have to leave on your own. So bowls you sound like you may be a TEAM PLAYER. sucking up to dispatch, thats the only way you can get a good load at Knight if your an 0/0. company drivers are the bottom of the feeding chain.

LOL! You work for a company, and say out loud that being a team player is the only way to succeed? Unbelievable! What world do you live in?

"Yeah, I'll go to work for a company that has 3000 tractors, but they better change all their policies, just to suit me, because I am Super Trucker."

You may be the dumbest individual I have ever come across.

No tracy you are the dumbest and you dont know Jack from Joe. If your an 0/0 at any company you have a contract and when they violate that contract like sitting you because you wont kiss up to the dispatcher or refuse a load that will cost you to do it. thats not being a team player, you are a wacko and must work for swift./ And yes I am a super trucker, long before you where a dream in your fathers jeans

When an 0/0 signs on with a big company or smaller company for TRACYS info, you have a contract. That contract states what you can do and what they can do, since your probably a reefer chicken hauler, you dont know what a contract is. When the contract states an0/0 can refuse any load for any reason and exercises that clause, he or she should not be punsihed for it and I know many 0/0s that dont mind buying pizzas and donuts and coffee for their dispatchers and will do any load they get just to get home or make fuel costs but they dont have to do it very often. I know the game, good loads go out to the a kissers aka team players and then the bottom feeders get whats left. Yah I get it TRACY, thats why ooida has so many law suits against these clowns. So stupid is as stupid does and I have had my own authourity for 25 years and that isnt much better, If you know what stupid is, you must be stupid also. 31 more years and youll be up to me.

Not that I'm an advocate for per deim(I get off it jan 1st every year) but you do understand that you can claim the difference between the paid per deim and the daily per deim on your taxes right? :biggrin_2556:

You where probably given the right answer to the wrong question. You can't take per deim pay and the per deim allowance FOR THE FULL AMOUNT. Nothing stops you from claiming the difference. My accountant does it(for other drivers) and I've heard Kevin Rutherford as well as another tax expert on the Lockridge report confirm it as well.

True, I do it every year...well, the tax people do it for me. Basically just figure what your full per diem allowance would be minus what you were paid and claim the difference.

Just curious, any idea how much more money you write off doing it that way? I am wondering how much more my checks would be each week and how much money I save in taxes. But since we have 3 kids and a fairly new mortgage, I get any taxes I pay in refunded every year. I just am tired of giving Uncle Sam an interest free loan!
Hell Maybe I should hire a tax expert.
