ok, swift or western express for new guy?

So WE installs a TV.
Where does the signal come from?
If it is the standard antenna don't count on picking up very much - no matter where you are.
No cable feed, and every truck that passes by will interrupt the signal.

I used to use a TV tuner with my laptop. But what I could pick up, and the signal degradation - not to mention having to spend 15-30 minutes at every stop to scan for channels - made the whole thing pretty pointless.

I would be more impressed if they installed a TV with a satellite dish, including the subscription cost. Do they?

Swift's tuition is $3900; hotel is $500. You pay thru payroll deduction of $75/wk for 52 weeks, and they reimburse you at $37.50/week for 104 weeks. The room was something like $25/week. No interest on the loans.

 

The driver cam program at Swift is on indefinite hold. The only trucks with them are the ones on dedicated accounts where the customer wants them (Walmart).

 

I talked with a few WE drivers. Their main complaint was constantly waiting a day or two between loads. Maybe that free DirecTV will come in handy...

 

I was talking to WE driver and he said freight is slow. He was getting about 3000 to 3500 miles a week and then things slowed down.

I am due a new truck within the next 3 months.
I'm expecting the radar and camera systems, as well as the auto.
I rather like the idea of the auto.
