You should only do that if it's the last choice you have. Instead of lowering your expectations you should adjust your search process. Change the way you look and be sure to include every type of job search. If you're just sitting behind a computer and filling out applications and talking with recruiters then you search method is very narrow. Seek out companies you like. Do not just accept a no over the phone. If they are near, go and see them. Ask drivers for that company how they like it. Ask the "BIG" question, do you have drivers that retire. But above all, before you even start to look sit down and make a list of what you want to do. Set yourself some realistic goals so you'll have a better idea on what you want to do. For example, you might want to haul refer OTR or flatbed regional. Save yourself some time and search for only companies that fit your needs. Then if you need to adjust your search you can. A lot of times drivers have no idea on what they want to drive and just want a job. I believe this is foolish and a waste of time. At least when a new driver has an idea on where he or she wants to do that time training helps to accomplish training towards his or her goal. Don't just use the first company as a stepping stone to your next job but use it to the fullest to help you. This industry is tough so you need to get the most out of a company to help you. That's why it's so imperative to search out the best company that fits your needs. Good luck.
