I just got my CDL Permit Today. I do have a speeding ticket from February (which I am not worried about), but it is not on my MVR. How do trucking companies find them?

It's really easy, and trust me they will find it as will and potential employer.

If it was a city or township cop. I would not report it. As you said, its not on your MVR.

Thanks. I am gonna report it, I was just curious if the MVR was the only way trucking companies look up your driving history.

Depends on who in where in OK. I remember getting a ticket in a rental car in Stringtown, OK running 83/70 3am. The cop told me if I didn t get another ticket in the next 100 days that it would not go on record

Their insurance companies have access to other databases.

Simple answer is that some jurisdictions do not report so it may never appear on an MVR. More complicated answer is that some jurisdictions do not report in a timely manner. They may not enter it in to the system for months or even years and then one day they do. It’s a process known as “dumping” where many convictions in some jurisdictions over a long period of time are all entered months or years after they happen rather than being entered as they happen.

I once had a ticket for a expired tag which was really a no no in this state. Paid the ticket 5 minutes later at our local police station while that trooper who wrote it did not have a chance to put everything away and resume patrol.
That one was treated as a gift to the Law it never showed up on record. So it worked out well all around. 30 minutes after that at the revenuer I had a new reg and tags.
