Well, the bear is back with a new username. The password retrieval on this site still doesn't work after years. But I digress, starting orientation at TWT in the Heavy Haul side. Dry van 105, 000 lb loads in WA, ID and OR. Since I live in Spokane now and their main yard is here it won the coin toss. I expect it to be exactly what I make of it. Just need to remember how to drive one of the big trucks, been in my pickup doing new RV delivery for the last 3 months.

Welcome to the TSI family. Im over with the tanker yankers in the black JJW trucks.
Dr Fozz Thanks this. -
Tomorrow the wife gets home and Monday I start orientation. I get to do one of those fun lift and carry, push and pull tests. Strange thing for someone who doesn't touch freight. Should be in a truck by Friday. Hey Emulsified, what's up?
-
Day one:
Drug test, drive test (10 Speed International) some paperwork visits from different departments, lunch from Subway and then off for the lift and carry testing. I passed everything but opted out of the flatbed testing, this old bear isn't working that hard.
I should be in a truck no later than Thursday. Tomorrow is lots more classroom, something about blood born pathogen training. YAY! -
What happened to the RV gig? only 3 mo's? Just curious is all brother.

My truck developed issues I can't afford to fix and more importantly the wife didn't like me being gone so much.
SheepDog Thanks this. -
Funny they tested you in a 10sp. Most of the new trucks coming in T680's have the auto shift in them I do believe but the older T800's should still have the 10sp. When I was thru there today to get fuel I seen a guy switching from a T800 to a T680.

I think it was an old school truck. They have put the school on hiatus we were told. Had a flatbed with some dunnage weight on it.
-
Yup old DTS trucks which are old system trucks. When I did my drive test we used a brand new system truck. Had 45 miles on it.
-
Day 2:
Whole lot of doing nothing, Subway for lunch, Smith driving in the afternoon. Should be getting my truck tomorrow. By the time we got back everyone was gone but the flatbedders. Hence I couldn't find out for sure.
