Good. Personally, I think any worker, even if they work in the transport industry, should make OT after 40.

Haven't been doing as much driving as I want, due to the weather. I can't remember the last time the midwest had as brutal a winter as this one. Be safe out there, everyone, and stay warm.

Yes, still here and still truckin!

The reason why I've been so quiet is simple: I've been busy, busy, busy! I've had a couple 2800-3000 mile weeks as we seem to be constantly playing "catch up" with this winter. And now they say that this weekend we'll get yet another winter storm! Yippy skippy!

Got back from a meet/turn in Marion, IL tonight. Don't know where I'm going tomorrow, but that's the extra board for you!

Gargantunut, I would say the best way to get info on them in Orlando is to walk in and ask. If you go during the regular work week, there should be someone at the terminal who can answer your questions. Looking at it on Google Maps, it looks like a fairly decent-sized terminal, so there should be some opportunity there.

Pinkpretty, you're welcome! It truly is the best job I've ever had, and I used to be a teacher! I'll try to be better about posting updates. Most of the time when I get back from work, I'm utterly wiped. LTL line haul can be pretty physically demanding, especially if you're like me and move your dolly around by hand (they weigh about 2000 lbs, but can be pushed around by hand).

    Jeez! What a week!

Thursday: Marion, IL. Gravy run; out there and back. 486 miles.

Friday: Got called in to go to the rail yard in Chicago, but ended up going to Nashville, TN instead. On the way down, I pull into the hammer lane on I 65 South to pass a truck going 1 MPH slower than me, and I guess I took too long because I got pulled over. Man, the way the trooper was talking to me, you'd think I'd just shot his dog! He wrote me up for a left lane violation, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. 612 miles.

Saturday: Morristown, OH with 11,000 lbs of poison gas. 539 miles.

Sunday: Double meet/turn to Memphis, IN. 400 miles.

    Monday: Chicago. 384 miles.

So will OD give you heck for the ticket/violation?

By the way you were talked to, I have to assume it was an Indiana state trooper. I have had oh so much fun with them in my personal vehicle.

No, I'm cool with OD regarding the ticket. I just have to do the paperwork with my manager, but I'm not in trouble with them. I think my manager thinks it was a BS ticket, but can't quite come out and say that.

Yes, it was an Indiana state trooper. I just don't get why some cops have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to truckers. In other states my interactions with the police have been mostly pleasant. Oh well.
