No problem there. The only thing I saw open was a P&D job. I am working some whacko hours this an probably next month. Saturday is our annual safety meeting. I hope they tell me I can get my second week of vacation paid during our July shut down week. I haul JIT automotive. I had 2 years in April at this job. I am looking at OD and Love's. Love's gives 2 weeks vacation on your first anniversary. $200+ a day one weekend day off a week.

Went and had the road test, drug screen , and physical monday. They turned all paperwork in to Thomasville . Said it may take a week to get a answer back? OD has been trying to get me over for the last 4 years .

OD's vacation policy is similar; two weeks after your first year, paid in 10-hour increments figured out by averaging your weekly pay. Right now my rate is 27.50/hr.

I'd apply for that P/D job. Are you applying to the Nashville terminal? It's a nice place to work; good people and nice accounts, one of which is the Bridgestone/Firestone factory across the street from them.

Yes, that's about par for the course. It took them a week to answer me back too.

My present job is hauling parts for Toyota. Shutdown for retooling is 7/14-7/18. I am going to OK to visit my dad and step mom. I then I am going to call OD and see what is there, and apply. I am going to find out Saturday if I can draw a weeks pay for that week.

if hired in what would the starting rate be for a 2 year or 3 year exp driver be on the P/D side and then on line haul side? This would be out of Columbus.

Cello I did call today and talk to someone. I am going to do my vacation 7/14 and going out of town. I will call again next week and check into getting an appointment. You have to apply on their computer, and they only have one. He would not talk about the hourly rate. That is a topic for the interview. P+D is all they have open. Hours are sort of 10am-12pm.

Any insight anyone can provide I would appreciate it.

    Hello,
Don't mean to hijacked this thread either and for sure don't want to take the spotlight from cello, but I will be finishing up my week training for OD out of the Carlisle, PA terminal to be a P&D Driver at the ALN terminal in Allentown, PA.

worked for OD as a Dock Worker for a year and now they put me thru school, got the permit with all endorsements and plan on taking the driving test in about 2 or 3 weeks into training, I am terrified by that test..

OD has Been really good to me, my warehouse manager it's a great guy, very fair, and most of the guys I worked in the dock were cool too.

I am 37 years old and had been on the warehouse business since I was 16, got tire of going nowhere (I had done everything from lead to supervisor) and nothing to show, so a year ago I decided to make a career change and not regretting one bit.

Just scare about the future experience, sorry cello for hijacking your post, it's been a real good read, but hey, I guess we are now part of the OD family, so that makes us Brother!!!

    Peace....

I think Cello has no time or has lost interest in this thread. I am anxious to hear about the P&D experience. Only thing open in Nashville right now.
