Well, another week has come and gone.
Thursday I went to St. Louis. I got delayed by an 1.75 hours due to my lead trailer being overweight by 900 lbs on the drive axle. They switched that trailer out to a new one, but that trailer had already left the yard! They finally got me a new lead, and I finally got out of there. St. Lou and back is a great run, otherwise. Straight there, and straight back, about 510 miles total.
Friday I went to La Salle, IL. About 470 miles there and back. Thought I was going to have to go to CHI but I got a lucky break and got sent back to Indy!
Saturday, was the rough day. Had to go to Decatur, IL and on to St. Louis, and my dispatch was delayed by over an hour. I made the mistake of taking my break during the delay. That comes into play later. Made it to St. Louis with 5 hours left. Left St. Louis with 4 hours and 15 minutes left, and I think I'm home free! But no, that break during the delay came back to bite me, since I took it too early, I ended up having to take another break, and that put me over hours, and I spend the night in a hotel only 35 minutes from Indy. Oh well, them's the breaks. I ended up with 579 miles off this trip.
Sunday I finished my trip back to Indy, and went back to St. Louis. Another 510 miles.
Monday I went to Columbus. 380 miles.

Awesome update cello. It's been about a week and a half since I applied at the Indy barn and haven't heard anything yet. I gave a call to check if I was still in the running and got a very firm "it states on the 1st page of the application not to call. If we're interested we will call you." Oops! That might have gotten my app places in the trash can filing bin. We'll see.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
You did the right thing. Shows them your hungry.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Do y'all know anything about the houston tx terminal
-
Who did you talk to? If it is the girl that runs the front desk, just know she talks to everyone that way. You're probably still in the running; corporate tends to drag their heels on applications. Once they call you for an interview, the process will speed up.
St. Louis and back today! I got to experience a proper St. Louis rush hour, too. Let's see what tomorrow brings!sweetkyle, Nightwind8830 and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
That's good to know. I def hope to hear something. I know with a good co. they can definitely be more picky regarding who they hire. I will keep at it. I am hoping my good driving record and no criminal history helps.
St Louis has got to be a nice run. Could do without the rush hour of course lol. I've ran around 270 before when there was construction on 64 and it was a little hairy during rush hour.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I dont think I would worry they must be hiring like crazy the trainers here at msp are getting swamped with new guys so they must be busy
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
They are busy! Word is we picked up a whole bunch of customers from Vitran and Central Transport, among others.
I did a meet/turn today, 534 miles, to Morristown, OH. Started early, ended early. Speaking of early, it feels weird that Daylight Saving time is now over, and it gets dark around 6 pm. I know it happens every year, but it still weirds me out every year.KW Cajun and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
yeah thank go I work 10am to 7pm linehaul I worked overnights for years and didnt care for it being dark all the time but starting now I guess its time to get use to the blizzards and minus 20 degree weather again
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Running from msp to fargo gets interesting for the next few months
blairandgretchen Thanks this.
