We are all hurting for drivers right now. Last Monday we had over 700 trailers that we couldn't work because of the shortage. Even our cartage companies that we give freight to are refusing our freight because of labor shortage. The Eol that I go to twice a week had a revenue gain of a million dollars over last year. Un heard of. Amazing how busy everyone is right now.

 

Just go for the money. Don’t worry about the Company going out of Business or Layoffs. The reason I say this, over 20-30 yrs. a lot of Companies will close, merge, dissolve. Move on along with your 401k to the next best paying Job you can find. Can’t predict the future. If I could, I’d have gotten a job at ABF, and be retiring this year. Who knew? So many others have gone away. So many others have emerged. Impossible to predict. Go for the pay Today. Worry about the rest when it happens. Always another Job available. Usually the same day. Truckdrivers not going to starve.

 

yep same in Chicago area. I think all 4 terminals are hiring. I have a friend at OD who tells me some guys can’t last few days and the new batch of drivers are garbage with no work drive.
