Top rate for most drivers will be 66 cpm in July.. and you'd likely be running harrisburg

After how long 2 years? And are the average miles really 2500? Is there loading and unloading at saia? Od is all drop n hooks -
If you are line haul the only work you do is build your set and break it at the drop. You don't touch freight, get paid if you have to spot your trailer in a door. You are paid hourly for all that work, mileage while driving.
City drivers work much harder, they handle freight all day and do a bunch of other crap. City drivers can fill in for line haul, if the terminal is short staffed but a line haul will never fill in for a city driver, not cross trained that way.
Lowest paid line haul in my brothers barn is $1,500 a week. His bid pays $1,819 with the build/break and some trailer spots. He works M-F about 12 hours a day. If I wasn't self-employed and happy I would be there in a heartbeat.
Personally I like change so if I were to go to Saia I would try for a system line haul bid. -
They aren't the greatest but out of all the LTLs that will hire you right now they are the best choice.
Linehaul pay is around .55 a mile top rate I believe.
You can work for them until you get some time in between your conviction then apply for better LTL companies. -
Because they are short on linehaul drivers on pgh, you start at full rate.. so if you were to start now you'd get the .64/mile, and the company-wide raise takes effect July 1st, which would bump you up to .66/mile. As for miles per week, 2500 is pretty average.. you may only get ~2300 miles starting out which ain't half bad.. linehaul drivers generally don't do dockwork at saia. It's drop and hook but you will have to hook/break (paid) your own setshomeskillet Thanks this.

Better than OD.
Try Estes -
What, YRC?? Right. ....
I agree, if you don't wanna work for OD.darthanubis Thanks this. -
Estes wont hire me. Ups and fedex probably wouldnt. Anyone know of ward trucking?
-
Yes. They run vans instead of pups for linehaul.
