I was working for Goggin Express doing OTR with my pet dog. OD bought Goggin Truck Lines, the parent company of my division. OD didn't allow me to bring my dog after the purchase so I turned in my notice. What I liked about OD and my next company Averitt Express is both are big "do everything" trucking companies. They are organized, they have a rule or procedure for everything. Follow the rules and you stay out of trouble. I like that, some drivers want no rules. Great health benefits, standard big company 401(k). What I didn't like, beside no pets, was the location in La Vergne, TN didn't have a full-time shop on-site in 1998. They had a 20 foot sea container for the mechanic to store tools & supplies and a parking spot beside the container for the mechanic to do his work. I haven't been back to the yard since then. I assume they have a normal shop now. I would recommend both Old Dominion and Averitt Express as good companies. I worked for 18 years on their Nissan account before switching to HazMat tanker for 3 years and then working for a small trucking company based in Boise, ID and staying out in the Northwest over a year. Old Dominion is a stable and honest company. They have lots of different jobs. After you drive a few months or a year you may want somethign besides whatever first job you pick. You can probably find another driving job within the company. OD is not a good company for free-spirits or cowboys or "just leave me alone I'll figure it out" drivers. They are a good company for organization men. I always saw the rules as guidance and protection, not handcuffs trying to break my spirit.

We rarely go out to eat, but when we do, with guests, we go to the two listed:
Sunset Station Hotel and Casino
Fiesta Henderson Hotel and Casino
~
The others are probably ok also, but Fiesta and Sunset are closest to us.

Very good buffets and cheap also. All you can eat and the ice cream and dessert areas are very good.
Safe parking area and hotel rooms if you need them.
