Are you wanting to drive again at 82 out of necessity or just wanting to get out on the road for a few adventures? Try driveaway type work. Work when you want, at your own pace make a few bucks. At 82 you might not want the daily grind of OTR.

Not out of necessity. I really enjoyed my driving experience. Before I went off the road I could not find a decent job or they would not hire me because of age. Ii would even take a part time job. Hauling rv's is not for me. You have to provide the truck. Most of the ads for drivers are only for immigrants
I do realize that the industry has gone downhill. Sometimes there are owner operators that want to take a month or 2 off.

Start sending resume out….age and experience more valuable than what’s available in the current workforce. You likely want to pull a van so you know where to apply in your area.
I hauled gravel years ago, some of the driver were retirees, they were attracted to the seasonal work aspect.

Just do it. I started 3 yrs ago and I'm 67. I've seen some guys that can barely walk, crawling out of their trucks.
