I have driven trucks, and I have driven Stagecoaches and I have to say that when it comes to the freight I would much rather haul something that doesn't come up and b**ch at me in the middle of the night.
I have since battled cancer and am now disabled and home bound and looking for some kindred spirits to pass the time. I hope all you guys are staying safe out there, and NEVER trust a 4 wheeler.......
Hope to hear from some people, and if you want stories I have 'em. I drove entertainer buses for 20 years, or 2 million miles, whichever way you want to look at it. I haven't driven nearly as many miles in trucks, only about a half million miles or so, but I definitely know the road and its issues......
Talk to ya soon...

So you drove entertainer buses? Tell me a story...musicians?
-
Welcome to The Machine...I wanna hear your stories about Joe Walsh
-
Yes sir...musicians, or as I grew to call them "four year olds with credit cards and car keys". I can tell you about the time I hauled a band to play in Sturgis. I parked the bus behind the stage and went walking around to look at some scoots. A few minutes later I looked toward the stage and saw smoke coming from the bus. I ran all the way there and when I opened the door smoke came rolling out so I yelled to the stage hands to find some more extinguishers and I grabbed the one I kept in the front luggage bay and headed on the bus to try to put out the fire. I got to the top of the steps and turned to the front lounge.....and there was the star sitting on the couch.....smoking a left handed cigarette. I said "Do you notice anything odd?" and he said he hadn't noticed anything! I had to drag him off the bus before I could go back and put the fire out. I have often wondered if I hadn't noticed the smoke if he would have just sat there until it was too late....mountaingote Thanks this.

I never had a tour with Joe or the Eagles but I have been around him a few times. He seemed to be a pretty cool guy.
mountaingote Thanks this. -
Who was the clueless entertainer in your previous story...or do you dare not tell?
-
Must have been fun back in the day

All the drivers I've met that drove tour buses for the stars, have serious health problems.
I've met quite a few too because I lived in metro-Nashville.
One was with Conway Twitty when he died on his bus. One wrecked Lee Greenwood's bus.
One did some serious partying in Mandrells bus. Plenty more, I just don't remember their names; just that they all had serious health problems. Used to see Grandpa Jones in Kroger every now and then. Also would see Lorrie Morgan at Kroger and the park in Goodlettsville where I jogged sometimes.
I never had the desire to drive for any of them, but the drivers that did had some wild times, but now with health problems and pacemakers.mountaingote and Rock 'n Roll Relocater Thank this.
