51D98B61-05E9-4827-8C96-EBF3078E5612.jpeg I’ve got 13 speeds in a couple of my trucks and I’ve put the old style shift knob, in both of them. Can an 18 speed be outfitted with this shift knob? There’s only 4 air ports in the 13 shift knob, would an 18 require a 5th to accommodate the low range splits?

Just curious, did you have to switch the airlines around on your 13 to make it work?

This thread has me thinking……. thinking if I should do the switch also, from my 1979, shifter knob and marble steering wheel to my 2014. But at the same time, I don’t want to start taking parts from my 1979, it all complete and original and everything works.

No, you could use the style I have, separate splitter and plunger for an 18, but how are you going to split the lo side with this one?

Funny thing is, the old 9513's that came with the splitter and plunger? You could split the low side like an 18, as there were no interlocks. But most trucks were so short-geared back then, it was a pointless endeavor.
