In my case I dont want or need home daily. So far living on the road has been easier than dealing with Austin traffic everyday, plus all the other nonsense a person has to deal with.
As a teacher You are a state employee, pretty secure in your job. I used to work for the state. It almost takes an act of Congress to get rid of one of those people.
In my case I am not worried too much with the driver shortage being what it is... And seeing the completion out there... Eh, should be fine. I only need about 10 years and I should be able to retire if I wanted. I save more than half of what I earn since I dont have to worry about rent.![]()

By the way, all drivers should be using maps and not a nav unit, support your local map makers!!
I drive the kids because we only connect nowadays at breakfast and dinner because either they are busy or I am.
It gives me time to talk with them (they are a captive audience and hate my jokes).

They are alright. They are good for avoiding low bridges. My codriver tried to use his phone just to get him to a dollar General. He didn't get two blocks and he came up on a low bridge. Lol.
They do try to route me down some questionable roads from time to time though. I just keep driving.. Yeah, me turning there is not going to happen.homeskillet Thanks this. -
Mine kept trying to route me to Louisville from 75 when I wanted to go to Lexington. So last trip I said what the heck, and hit the Blue Grass Parkway . I mean, a parkway? Should be OK. I get a few miles and the weight limit warning comes up - 20 tons! Holy crap. It's late at night, no traffic and no one to ask, so I keep going. I finally see a white sign with outlines of trucks. 20 is for box trucks, it's 40 for semis. I called it into Garmin. And yes, I am configured properly.
SingingWolf and Oldironfan Thank this.
