if you are the one that called it in, THANK YOU

this is why, we NEED to drop dimes.

some may debate that we should "let it go", karma will catch up with them.

i DO believe in karma, but i also believe in dropping that dime, and I HAVE MANY times, in the past.

i personally do not feel like a rat fink, but rather as a seasoned driver we need to help clean up our roads from such stupidity. now how ever any company handles the complaint(s) is up to them.

but i "qualify" my dime, by asking for an email address, or simply giving the person on the phone my AOL email.

i use that AOL strictly for that reason, then i email them a complete (as possible) redo of what the phone call did.

many times, in the past, people have "called in" on a driver, and we all know that of those times, it's a scorned wife of the driver, or some other person with a grudge against that driver, and they never follow up on any complaint(s), but i do.

if we do not "police" ourselves, everyone had better believe that our elected officials and the feds certainly will do it for us....do we really need that..??? on top of what we already have on our shoulders..???

it wasn't me, it was the guy who he ran off the road.

  6. So can you use your GPS outside your truck in the rain, or when it does it's last death?

Like said on here millions and millions of times before within. Hundreds of threads.
A GPS,Map books and cell phone are just that a tool. You are driving a huge 80k lb truck. Take the moment to figure your route.
Depending on a GPS as the do all must follow is wrong. You rely on the signs the streets the vehicle that you are controlling to drive to a brick and mortar building. A GPS can and will not show you the construction the city put up on Monday preventing you from making that right turn.

We are not old because we made stupid turns or floated our truck into a river. We took the time to figure out how to get to where we need to be. Think smarter not harder. We don't tell you young drivers these tidbits to waste our breath. We are trying to get you home safely. To be with family and drive another day.
Add this one to the millions of old timer/ map book/ teaching threads.

    dwells40 and Lepton1 Thank this.

A map canNOT and will not tell you that either so whats your point?

And actually google maps DOES update with construction zones quite regularly, far more regularly than that paper map does.

Many states, including IL, IN, and OH where that driver might be from even if he was a local, DO NOT PERMIT the use of 4-ways while driving. In those states, if you hit your 4-ways while merging and accelerating up to speed, YOU CAN get a ticket. Sure, MI allows people to drive with their 4-ways on...but that doesn't change the fact that most states prohibit it, and if he's from any of those states he WON'T do what you're demanding.

Sure, the other stuff...reading, etc...is just ignorant and would justify termination. You mentioned "no 4-ways" multiple times, though, and that in and of itself isn't a problem...in fact, I'd have more than a few choice words for you if you ever brought that up as a suggested or recommended thing that you expected me to do, seeing it is ILLEGAL in far more places than where it is allowed.

Well i don't know about Illinois but Indiana and Ohio, the use of hazards are permitted when you are driving a vehicle that needs special considerations by others for safety. In this case, having a vehicle running at 40 mph in a 70 mph speed limit zone seems to qualify that special consideration for safety.

This happened today. Some dame in an SUV of course. Got on in front of me and just parked. I had to hit the brakes. Then she wakes up and motors away. How can they be this stupid, or is it just total disdain for truckers?
