I've got a 96 International 9300 (ugly) with a 3406e and I wouldn't trade it for all the new trucks in China. It's so #### reliable. My second choice would be a 3406B. I got stopped a while back by a DOT officer for speeding. I was hill topping (drag and fly) on some country 2 lanes in the mountains and let the truck get away from me going down one of the hills and was doing 62 in a 55 when he came over the top of the hill in front of me. Long story short, he didn't give me a ticket and said my truck was in better shape than 90% that he inspected. He seemed genuinely or pleasantly surprised by that. My old truck does need to be painted but it is perfect mechanically and it takes near constant work to get an old used truck back to that point and keep it there but the rewards can be great.
Diesel Dave, clausland, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 3 others Thank this. -
Probably a "Super" 10 right? I have a good buddy driving one for a small company. She gets up the road quite well.Dwardell662 Thanks this.

That's kind of how my truck is. Not going to win any paint or beauty contest but crawl underneath or raise the hood and lots of new shiny parts. It does need new cross shaft bushings real bad but other than that everything is tip top.OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

9300 ugly?Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, lol.Made a ton of money with my old 9300,N-14 500,15 speed, very reliable. With being retired, the only thing I truly miss about trucking is my truck.
Ruthless, OLDSKOOLERnWV and jdiesel3406 Thank this. -
@swaggerjacker yup super 10. U think I'll get job done???

Nothing wrong with a super ten. Their only draw back is they are not as sturdy as a straight ten. But that only matters if you can't shift and drive like a typical company driver that doesn't care if he tears things up.
They went the way of the dodo bird simply cause they wasn't a high demand for them. The big fleets needed the invincibility of straight tens to withstand abuse by bad drivers, and most smaller fleets/ owner operators bought 13s for the extras gears. So there just wasn't a big market for them.rollin coal and Dwardell662 Thank this.
