Older Cat power steering pump

    My brother in law has a 1996 T450 KW, 3306 motor.
    Power steering pump went out. Pump # K188-247, locked up.
    His input shaft has a key-way, no longer made,only ones available have splined shafts.
    Anybody have any thoughts ?

    Replace the drive gear?

    Most power steering pumps are just basic gear pumps. Find a hydraulic shop nearby and they could probably source the parts to rebuild it.
