when you are looking to buy--always get an ecm printout--and a dyno if you can
on the printout you can see the exact mileage--idle time and speeds and a few other goodys that might help

Scrumdog, mysticguido and uptownkid Thank this.

I'd thank that post 10 times if i could:biggrin_25514:,thats it dino6960,well said. I can't tell you how many times i have caught the potentially big problems early 'cause i wus climbing around under the truck greasing the truck and trailer. Good post,driver:biggrin_25514: Oh,by the way,a feller can make a fair living with an older truck, imho. I drive a '90 model, and i do ok,for an old farmboy:biggrin_25525:

yes pretty hard on a mechanical engine to know the idle history---but also a lot easier to work on--the only thing i dont like about mech engines --is the the that your foot is mechanically connected to throttle--maybe its just me--but on a really rough road i notice that i seem to blip the throttle more than if i had an electric pedal

Yep, but that does mean no throttle position sensor to go bad!

If you worried about cab movement, its very minimal even on airride cabs. Keep in mind the cab air is on the back not the front.
