On Site Parking

I know that y'all will be very interested in this, but if you go north about a mile you will see a large blacktop parking lot at the rail yard. That is our Mesquite yard.

 

First off, if you do drive in, take the car to the motel with you while you are staying there. This way you arent stuck there with no transportation. Thats what I did while in school. Heck, I even went home (Ft. Worth) for the weekends.

Then when you hit the road use the parking lot at Stevens. As far as vandalism, etc I never saw that. I saw a couple of cars that looked as though they had been there awhile but never saw any glass, etc on the ground. There is a guard there 24/7 at the gate (for what its worth). Although things may have changed since I left Stevens a year ago.

 

I was planning on taking my vehicle up there to training. My wife would come down from Amarillo and pick it up in a week or two. Plenty of load traffic it looks like going into and out of Amarillo so home time shouldn't be a problem.

 

Amarillo will be no problem at all.

 

Thanks for the heads up on the parking in the Stevens yard. Living an hour south I planned on driving as taking a bus is really not an option. I plan on staying in the Hotel during the week and driving home on the weekends during training and "WHEN" I graduate parking while out. I am curious where is the closest approved parking area to where I live in Glen Rose? It is about 70 miles Sw down US 67 from Dallas.

 

Not a Stevens driver but there is always airport parking and it is secured.Take a cab from there

I don't think I can afford the daily cost of airport parking.

 

Not sure what you're asking, but if you're referring to parking your POV while out on the road, you can park it at Stevens. If you're speaking of parking the truck, we'll find a place, but that close, it might be most convenient to leave it at the yard.

 

I know how I worded my response and question was confusing. I was asking about when parking a Stevens truck what was the closest to my home. I figured the Dallas yard was and parking my POV there while out running is not going to be an issue. I am up in Dallas enough as is on a regular basis. I just got a call from Katrina confirming my arrival and she did correct me on the starting time. Yesterday I got a call and asked and was told 7AM; a few minutes ago when I asked to confirm my start time Katrina course corrected me and said I need to be in the lobby by 630AM. Neither times are an issue with me so hopping on the shuttle and being there at 630 is fine by me.

 

Of you are driving to the hotel, you may as well drive to the school daily too... that shuttle can be a beast.
