Ummm...I'll sound like the idiot here, but I had an Air-Weigh system put on both the tractor and the trailer 8 years ago. The tractor/head unit stopped working several months ago and of course it it's outdated, would need a new tractor unit at about $500 - guess I shouldn't be surprised at that.

But the trailer unit still works on its own and I found both to be reasonably accurate and has saved me when I paid attention to what it said I weighed and cost me money on at least one occasion when I didn't pay attention. Yes, you need to be on flat and level ground for accurate readings, but just move your truck around and get 2-3 weights and you should be pretty close.

Got pulled in for weighing at a FL scale a few years ago and asked what my readings were while I was on the pad and the REALLY NICE lady let me in and printed-out my axle weights for me to see and the Air-Weigh was very close.

    Just my experience...

Ok, and I'll come back and say I wish Ralphie would install it for me...haha. Guys... I'm talking about a dump truck here, not a rig and trailer. I don't have air ride or air bags except on my 3 drop axles, that's why I'm wanting some type of scale system. I saw on a log truck once some type of digital scale on the dash and I wondered what it was and how it worked. Seems some of you guys have spent good money on crap that doesn't work, I don't wanna go down that route if I can help it.

Check out "vulcanscales.com"; say they have systems for all types of truck suspensions. Probably won't be cheap, but if it is what you need/will save you from overweight citations...

There are lots of'em who claim their product is "da best" but for every one of'em a bunch of people will prove the opposite. More and more I think is just a matter of luck.
