After 5yrs not driving semi, they may want u to do their training course. What part of the country do u live in? And small fleets are usually easier to get started again instead of jumping through all the hoops of a big company.

I see some are saying self insured companies may hire you. If so, Watkins Shepard is self insured. May be worth a shot. And they will treat you much better than western or ptl. Idk what their hiring rules are but worth a look.

If you don't have a perfect driving record then those megas don't want to train you in their driving school.
Best thing to do is go to private truck driving school. Get your cdl and then you can have good chance of a job.
Most truck schools will have you do prehire from 2 or 3 companies before they let you train.

I don't know. You would have to call them. I was in Michigan when I was hired but things change.

Try Russ n Sons in lakeside, also a tanker company used to be called CWT, continental Western transport on Harris plant road in Miramar, might have new name now. Several O/O looking for drivers hauling dirt/ gravel. Check paper. Large company that will get u back home to San Diego is US express. Good luck, if your breathing and have a CDL, someone will hire you.

    Shadowz81 Thanks this.

And you're sense is right; the key to a better future is getting hired and staying put for a good length of time, no matter how hard it is. So make sure you can do whatever the company does for long enough to overcome a negative CSA report.

    Shadowz81 Thanks this.
