Don't just look at CPM, also look at assessorial pays. Assessorial pays add up to thousands a year. The problems are, the tickets and you haven't driven a big truck in a few months.

Keep trying and also try these companies:

    Gardner Trucking
    Havlor Lines
    Pride Transport
    Super Service
    KKW Trucking

Western Express will probably hire you, but they get a bad rap on this forum. Just depends on how bad a person needs a job and what they're willing to do to get it. Some like the company, some don't. Some drivers don't last a month there and some have been there for years.

wouldn't it be nice if we had that constitutional right to LIVE OUR LIFE AND DECIDE OUR OWN FATE.

i don't wear helmets either. not a law, but there was discussion for 5 straight years about wanting to make it law. haven't heard anything lately.

don't wear seatbelt in the car. but i defenitely wear it in the truck. otherwise, i get harrased on a daily basis.

I agree, but tell that to the FMCSA who started the CSA points system and the insurance companies. Both of which control who gets to play in this game.

It's too #### nit picky anymore. This very rigid environment is pushing a lot of experienced and safe drivers out of the field, and fast.

I never realized one speeding ticket could be so damaging. I actually just found out that I can remove the point count on the violation simply by calling the dmv and requesting it. Takes four weeks, but it won't mask the violation from appearing with a zero point count. Do you think that'll make any difference? I got accepted by Gordon but I'm going to look in to those others you listed. I wanted to go with Watkins but they won't hire me until at least one of those seat belt tix falls off in a couple months

I think 2 seatbelt tickets hurt you worse than the speeding ticket.

I have 2 speeding on my record and have NEVER had a seat belt ticket and I got hired with no CDL experience.

No way. Ive had seat belt tickets nearly every year since 2010 and only once cost me a job. The speeding ticket has not only raised my insurance rates but its cost me three shots at jobs now. Im not saying seatbelt tickets are good, but id trade the speeding ticket for one anyday. And im pretty sure the hands free are the worst ones of all these days. Ive heard of companies thatll hire with a dui but not with even one hands free

i don't think tickets have an impact on your insurance rates. it's more of a credit score thing.

i'm paying more now for a low score with no tickets. then i was with a high score and one speeding.

It's hard to be in control of an 18 wheeler when you could be thrown out of the seat.......Wearing the belt is not just to protect YOU from an accident, but it's to protect EVERYONE ELSE.

It depends on how recent the ticket is too. I had 50 in a 35 and got a accepted. BUT that was May 2010 when I got the ticket and when I got accepted was April 2013 so was in month of falling off.

As far as seatbelt goes I always wear mine and don't have issues with the law. I'd rather be in an accident with it on then without it. Case in point...brother in law was tboned in the rear corner panel flipping his truck. Had he not been wearing it id be on funeral leave comforting my wife.

I may be mistaken, but I thought that once you hold a CDL it doesn't matter what vehicle you are driving, CMV or personal car, the points from speeding tickets or other infractions are always reported and the points are doubled. Holding a CDL means you can be considered DUI at .04. If anyone has more accurate information about that I'm all ears.

Regarding those that say wearing a seatbelt should be considered a personal choice, a good friend of mine would beg to differ vigorously. He's an EMT on an ambulance. First day on his first job and he had to pick up pieces of a young lady that was ejected around both sides of the post between the windshield and the driver's window. He almost quit that night and still has nightmares.

Wearing a seatbelt in a big rig is essential for safety. As noted above you can easily lose control of your rig if you hit a deep pothole, someone hits you, or you hit something. Have some care and consideration for EMT's and LEO's that might need to clean up your grease spot after you get ejected and crushed under your rig.
