I would agree, if it were not for the fact that this argument is stupid.
Anyone that looks at this can notice a number of things if they use their brains for more than a couple of seconds
*prices are cheapest for countries that produce their own oil.
*prices are cheapest for countries that have the GOV control the cost of fuel / oil
*the chart is in the US dollar...which the common person might think...woopy doo. But the fact is that the dollar is tanking fast. We used to make fun of the Canadians because our dollar was worth more than theirs. Now THEIRS is worth more than ours.
*with that fact, our dollar is worth less, meaning we have to spend more of it to get the same product. Sure a dollar is a dollar, but worldwide when a dollar is worth less, we need to spend more of that dollar. Part of the reason behind the surging oil prices. Its not that oil is rising in price...it just seems that way because we have to spend more of our money on a barrel because the dollar currently sucks.
*Supply and Demand. There IS NO SHORTAGE of oil supply here in the US. There is NO demand either that is high for it. Its the same.
*our country allows people to buy and sell and buy and sell and buy and sell oil without touching it. I've heard of a number where people were buying fuel as far out as 2015, hoping that the numbers work in their favor for a huge increase. If you can buy a million gallons of oil at 3 bucks a gallon and the cost goes up to 4 bucks a gallon...you just made a ton of money.
*where fuel is the most is in countries where there is little to no oil production or where its very remote.
*its not that OPEC is against us because...well they aren't. OPEC even said last week when good ol Bush begged for more oil, that nobody else is asking for more oil. The oil crisis and cost issue is ONLY here in the states.
*with that in mind, that the problem lies only here in the states, one can easily tie that into the falling dollar, the current economic toilet flush we are in and a bunch of other factors.
*The car manufacturors here in the states say they can't meet strict mileage requirements for fuel, while they meet them with no problem with even stricter requirements in other countries.
*Everybody and their dog drives a tank that uses up fuel as if it was on fire...and they wonder...
*also, the cost of oil is relative to a bunch of different factors everywhere. fuel might be 12 cents a gallon in x country...but when they make maybe a buck a week for income....The costs to refine it and ship it...etc are probably much lower than they are here.
*Im surprised you didn't mention the oil companies huge or should I say "huge" profits. Considering they make 4-8% profit on what they sell...its not much at all. Sure you say that 4 billion dollars is alot of money, but if they are working on 4% margins...then they had costs of 100 billion dollars! But yea, lets get our senators to go up and ask extremely stupid questions like "so...how much do you make"....as if those morons we elected ever rejected a pay increase.
One quick fix
