I am talking about how a company will view it. It doesn't matter if he is charged with reckless or not. Take a look at a job application. Most of them ask if you've had a ticket for 15 or more over.

I was thinking the same about not remembering a ticket for that.

Uh, it was two years ago, and since I've been through a lot of changes since then, I just hadn't remembered it. Don't even try to make me out to be something I'm not.

    Show me your MVR...

Actually, your post just proved my point...only one ticket, two years old, nothing before and nothing after--I have nothing to worry about. Easy to maintain too, since I don't have a car.

I will show you my MVR.

One ticket, 15 years ago, for 6 mph over the limit.

Cop wanted a DUI and was ticked when he found out I was the DD LOL

    Then if that is true,

Why are so many companies so worried about new drivers past records?

That is a ticket I would have taken to a lawyer to get lowered no matter if a cdl or not. I got one that was far worse than that for speeding and got it dropped to a non-moving violation, sure i paid more than the normal fine but it was worth it to not have it on my record and not lose my license.

The final say will likely rest with the potential employers insurance company.

So much negativity o/p you will have no problem obtaining your CDL. You will have no problem looking for a job. You will get that driving job you are seeking....... you'll just have to wait 1 to 3 years for that ticket to drop to the requirements most carriers have imposed. Do you remember the increase in your insurance? Imagine the cost of insuring you a carrier would have to pay. Did you remember to pay that ticket? If not there was a warrant issued out on you and there's another problem that takes 5 years to go away.

15 over is "Critically Serious CDL Violation", I had one 10 years ago (with my car on my holiday) and I was fired because of the insurance company agreement. Other company hired me, because their policy was "no more than three tickets in three years".... But hard to believe you do not remember. With a little help I can remember 30 years back for my tickets. Before I was professional, I was young and..... I got some. Anyway, hire a lawyer. They can reopen the case and usually reduce your ticket. And remember! You are a professional driver and if you make a mistake, you need professional help, a lawyer. For you, the cheapest ticket is not 40$, it is 440$. To reopen a little more. So better to do it right away.
