Every one of us met that driver. You go from hauling sticks and bricks, steel plate and coils to hauling stuff with no description. It would be like you're the best at hauling coils, but one day, you have to haul what looks like a 25000lb coil without the O, suicide. You are stumped, but that driver walks up and shows you how.tsavory and CasanovaCruiser Thank this.

There's really not a lot to learn for securing. Know the basics. The rest you'll learn.
Too many types of loads, Too many variables for securement.
One day is plenty sufficient. The biggest requirement, is that you use your brain.
Even the longest flatbed haulers, will haul something they have no clue to secure. After all, we can't haul EVERYTHING in the country, ALL THE TIME. Most shippers will tell you how they want it secured. The rest is EZ PZ. -
load suicide with no O, i got all twitchy. holy hallabut.
tsavory Thanks this. -
Heck showed how to chain down limestone blocks told they would have someone at reload to go over and show me a few things on the next load. I was unloaded and went loaded up at the reload my mentor was just getting the first stop so away I went. Last I heard about any securement training almost 3 years ago.

You got more than I got.
The only advice I was given was not to back up with the steerable drop axles on the ground.
There so much I had to figure out... I felt like I was 23 again and shown how a spicer and the old hi/lo 8 spd with deep reduction worked. It was pretty much swim or sink. No room for sissys in that company.
XL 110 3 axle with 4th on a hydraulic flip. Old school days we didnt have flip axles.
Common sense has to be the best asset. There is no otber way to survive in this business.
